MEN’S BASKETBALL
Player of the Week
Greyson Pritzl, Lander
Sophomore, Guard
  • Helped Lander to a 3-0 week which secured at least a share of the PBC Regular Season title, averaging 20.33 points per game
  • Pritzl had 22 points, three rebounds and an assist in a 95-82 victory over USC Beaufort 
  • Scored 21 points while adding six rebounds, three assists and a steal in the 84-62 victory over Georgia Southwestern
  • Scored 18 points while adding six rebounds, two assists and a steal in the 77-68 victory over USCA
  • Pritzl leads the PBC in three-point percentage with .432, and is second in three-pointers made (70) and three-pointers per game (2.7)
 
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Player of the Week
Deshona Gaither, GCSU
Senior, Guard
  • Helped GCSU to a 2-0 week, averaging 26.50 points per game
  • Gaither scored 25 points while adding five rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 67-65 victory over North Georgia
  • Scored 28 points while adding five rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal in a 65-60 OT victory over Georgia Southwestern
  • Gaither is averaging 13.2 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game and 2.3 steals per game
 
BASEBALL
Player of the Week
Jackson Chizek, Columbus State
Senior, Infield
  • Helped Columbus State to a 3-0 series sweep of Claflin
  • Had a .583 batting average, .917 slugging percentage and .667 on base percentage for the week
  • Posted 7 hits, 8 RBI’s and scored five runs for the week, going 11-19 at the plate
  • Chizek hit two doubles, and a triple 
  • Chizek leads the PBC in batting average (.484) and on base percentage (.568), is second in on base + slugging percentage (1.310), and fourth in slugging percentage (.742)
Pitcher of the Week
CJ Lincoln, USCA
Junior, Pitcher
  • Went 2-0 on the week in relief, tossing 6.1 innings and allowing no runs
  • Tossed two frames, striking out two and giving up just one hit and no walks in the 8-7 victory vs Coker
  • Threw 4.1 innings of relief, striking out three and not allowing a single hit in a 16-7 victory vs Middle Georgia
  • In PBC Play, Lincoln is first in opposing batting average (.000), earned run average (0.00), runs allowed (0) and earned runs allowed (0)
Freshman of the Week
Johnny Nutt, GSW
Freshman, Pitcher
  • Earned his second consecutive PBC win with a 7-inning effort on Sunday vs GCSU
  • Held the Bobcats to just one unearned run through six innings
  • Retired 10 consecutive batters and recorded a career-high nine strikeouts
  • Ranks fourth in the PBC in opposing batting average (.192) and tied for sixth in fewest hits allowed (14) on the season
  • In PBC play, Nutt ranks fifth in opposing batting average (.146), tied for second in innings pitched (14.0) and is tied for first with wins (2)
 
 
SOFTBALL
Player of the Week
Marycille Brumby, North Georgia
Senior, First Base
  • Helped North Georgia to a 5-0 week
  • Had a .625 batting average, 1.313 slugging percentage and .684 on base percentage for the week
  • Totaled two doubles and three home runs on the week, with eleven RBIs, ten hits and five runs
  • Leads the PBC in slugging percentage (1.083), on base + slugging percentage (1.644) and home runs (6) and is fourth in batting average (.500), fifth in RBIs (17) and sixth in on base percentage (.561) and hits (18)
Pitcher of the Week
Madison Murphy, USC Beaufort
Senior, Pitcher
  • Made three appearances for the Sand Sharks this weekend with three wins, including two shutout victories
  • Struck out four while allowing just three hits in five innings in a 10-0 complete game victory over Mount Olive
  • Struck out four, allowing eight hits in five innings in a 10-2 complete game victory over UNC Pembroke
  • Struck out ten, allowing just two hits in seven innings in a 5-0 complete game victory over Virginia Union
  • Murphy leads the PBC in ERA (1.32), is second in wins (6), third in innings pitched (42.1), batters struck out (38) and batters struck out looking (11) and fourth in opposing batting average (.215) 
Freshman of the Week
Ava Matthews, Flagler
Freshman, Pitcher
  • Made two appearances for the Saints this weekend, securing her first collegiate win
  • Pitched four scoreless innings with one hit and retired nine of the last 11 batters she faced vs #6 Francis Marion on Friday
  • On the weekend she pitched 6.2 innings, had six hits, one strikeout and allowed two runs with a 2.10 ERA
  • Matthews is eight in the PBC in strikeouts (17) and sixth in strikeouts looking (8)
 
MEN’S TENNIS
Player of the Week
Thomas Cardona, Columbus State
Senior
  • Led #14 Columbus State to a 5-2 victory over #9 Embry-Riddle
  • Won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles over #25 Marc Mail
  • Teamed with Yike Liu at No. 2 doubles winning 6-1 over #18 Marc Mail and Enrico Rosellini
 
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Player of the Week
Elena Ondobo, Flagler
Sophomore
  • Competed at the ITA Division II Indoor National Championship
  • Went 2-0 at #2 singles, upsetting #6 Alexa Milliam (UWA) 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 
  • Defeated Jimena De Pablos (UINDY) 6-2, 7-6
 
 
MEN’S LACROSSE
Offensive Player of the Week
Dempsey Gibbs
Freshman, Midfielder
  • Helped Flagler to a 2-0 week
  • Scored six goals on seven shots in a 10-7 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic
  • Scored two goals on five shots in an 11-8 victory over Florida Southern
  • Third in the PBC in goals per game with 2.50 
Defensive Player of the Week
Brendan Watson, Flagler
Senior, Defender
  • Helped Flagler to a 2-0 week
  • Led the team with four caused turnovers, one in each game while also securing two ground balls
  • Watson is tied for fourth in the PBC in caused turnovers (7), and eight in caused turnovers per game (1.40)
 
WOMEN’S GOLF
Player of the Week
Kajsa Lindqvist, Lander
Junior
  • Lindqvist finished second overall at the Battle at Hilton Head
  • Shot four-over par 220 (78-69-73)
  • Made the All-Tournament Team in a field of 100 competitors
  • Lindqvist finished with nine birdies which was tied for second in the field, and 35 pars (T-9th) Lander finished Runners-Up as a team at +38
