BASEBALL
Player of the Week
Sebastian Collender, Middle Georgia
Junior, Catcher
  • Helped Middle Georgia to a 3-1 record on the week, including a series win over Augusta, the first PBC series win in program history
  • Had a .625 batting average, 1.063 slugging percentage and .667 on base percentage for the week
  • Posted 10 hits, 6 RBI’s and scored 8 runs for the week
  • Collender hit a double and two home runs, one home run in each of the two victories over Augusta at the weekend
  • On the season, Collender has a .402 batting average, .609 slugging percentage and .477 on base percentage 
Pitcher of the Week
Evan Koehler, Georgia Southwestern
Senior, Pitcher
  • Koehler threw 8 innings in a 3-2 loss to USCA in the series opener
  • Struck out 10, with no walks and just one run over 8 innings
  • Held the Pacers, the second-best hitting team in the league, to a .172 batting average
  • Retired the side in order four times
  • On the season, Koehler leads NCAA Division II in strikeouts (73) and leads the PBC in innings pitched (51.2), batters struck out (73), batters struck out looking (23), wins (5) and is second in earned run average (1.74), opposing batting average (.179) and is third in fewest runs allowed (12)
Freshman of the Week
Cole Huddleston, GCSU
Freshman, Infielder
  • Helped GCSU to a 2-2 week
  • Had a .571 batting average, .643 slugging percentage and .625 on base percentage for the week
  • Posted 8 hits, 4 RBI’s and scored 4 runs for the week
  • Huddleston hit one double and stole one base
  • On the season, Huddleston has a .309 batting average, .340 slugging percentage and .340 on base percentage 
 
 
SOFTBALL
Player of the Week
Sydnee Reaves, North Georgia
Senior, Outfield
  • Helped North Georgia to a 5-0 week
  • Had a .500 batting average, 1.375 slugging percentage and .556 on base percentage for the week
  • Totaled two doubles and four home runs on the week, with 12 RBIs, eight hits and six runs
  • Reaves knocked in a home run in four of her five games this week, with her two doubles coming in the only game she didn’t hit a home run in
  • On the season, Reaves leads the PBC in slugging percentage (.810), on base+ slugging percentage (1.283), runs batted in (37), doubles (15), home runs (8), at bats (100) and is second in runs scored (27) and hits (42)
Pitcher of the Week
Khloe Shears, Columbus State
Junior, Pitcher
  • Made three complete-game appearances for the Cougars this week, going 3-0 from the mound
  • Shears threw 21 innings, allowing 20 hits and just three runs (2 earned)
  • She issued three walks and recorded six strikeouts
  • Shears leads the PBC in earned run average (1.51), is second in fewest earned runs allowed (14) and wins (9) and third in fewest runs allowed (19)
Freshman of the Week
Lila Mullinax, North Georgia
Freshman, Pitcher
  • Made two appearances for the Nighthawks this week for 7.2 innings pitched
  • Allowed just four hits in 7.2 innings, with five strikeouts, no runs and five walks 
  • Mullinax faced 25 batters, holding her opponents to a .160 batting average
  • Mullinax is second in the PBC this season for fewest runs allowed (18), fourth in fewest earned runs allowed (16), fewest hits allowed (41) and opposing batting average (.217), fifth in batters struck out (42) and wins (6) and sixth in earned run average (2.24)
 
MEN’S TENNIS
Player of the Week
Samer Al Tori, Columbus State
Junior
  • Helped No. 42 Columbus State to a perfect 3-0 week, including wins over defending NCAA D2 Champion Valdosta State, #23 Belmont Abbey, and #32 Wingate
  • Was a perfect 5-0 on the week with 3-0 doubles record at No. 2 with teammate Thomas Cardona, and a 2-0 singles record at No. 3
  • Won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles against Valdosta State, and his singles match went unfinished after CSU clinched the match before the conclusion of the final set
  • Won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles against #23 Belmont Abbey and 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles
  • Won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles against #32 Wingate and 7-5, 1-6, 6-1 at No. 3 singles
 
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Player of the Week
Olesya Stokusova, North Georgia
Freshman
  • Against No. 20 Lee, No. 29 Olesya Stokusova defeated No. 52 Aliyah Dwyer, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 3 singles in UNG's 6-1 victory.
  • Against No. 26 Indianapolis, Stokusova and her partner Anastasiia Opolska earned a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles before Stokusova earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory against No. 73 Magda Kornijczuk at No. 3 in UNG's 4-1 victory
  • Against No. 24 UT Tyler, Stokusova's match was unfinished, but she was leading 6-1, 5-4 at No. 3 in North Georgia's 4-1 win
  • Stokusova is 9-0 on the year in singles competition
 
MEN’S LACROSSE
Offensive Player of the Week
Aydan Weiszhar, UAH
Freshman, Midfielder
  • Led UAH’s attack this week shooting .588 shots on goal
  • Had 4 goals for the week for four points
  • Weiszhar is second in the PBC this season in total goals (23) and fourth in goals per game (2.09). He is also sixth in total points (26) and eight in points per game (2.36)
Defensive Player of the Week
Brendan Watson, Flagler
Senior, Defender/ Midfielder
  • Helped lead the Saints in their 9-8 loss vs #19 Florida Tech
  • Caused three turnovers and had a career high seven ground balls
  • Watson is fourth in the PBC this season in caused turnovers (15) and caused turnovers per game (1.50). He is also sixth in ground balls (24) and eight in ground balls per game (2.40)
 
 
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Track Athlete of the Week
Karson Norman, Lander
Freshman
  • Competed at the SWU GottaRun Invite this weekend
  • Placed first in the 400m with a time of 48.66, the second fastest in the PBC this season so far
  • Placed sixth in the 200m with a time of 22.09, the second fastest in the PBC this season so far
  • Competed in the 4x100m relay that finished with a time of 42.09, the second fastest in the PBC this season so far
 
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Track Athlete of the Week
Journey Edwards, Lander
Freshman
  • Competed at the SWU GottaRun Invite this weekend
  • Finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.67, fifth fastest in the PBC this season so far
  • Finished 3rd in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:10.56, the third fastest in the PBC this season so far
 
Field Athlete of the Week
Kaylee Spangler, Lander
Freshman
  • Competed at the SWU GottaRun Invite this weekend
  • Won the Pole Vault with a mark of 2.70m, the seventh best in the PBC this season so far
 
MEN’S GOLF
Player of the Week
Ian Pienaar, Columbus State
Senior
  • Pienaar delivered a strong performance for Columbus State at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate
  • finishing fourth overall at 11-under par.
  • Pienaar carded rounds of 69 (-3), 63 (-9), and 73 (+1) to help lead the Cougars to a second-place team finish at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club
 
WOMEN’S GOLF
Player of the Week
Sofia Terzoli, Flagler
Freshman
  • Sofia Terzoli finished in a tie for fourth place with a 1-over par 214 (73-72-69) at the Emerald Coast Collegiate.
  • Her 2-under 69 in the final round vaulted her 11 spots on the leaderboard
  • This was her first top five finish of the year, the best 54-hole score of the season, and the 69 was her best round so far. 
  • Terzoli helped the Saints finish in third place
