Georgia Southwestern Leads PBC Men's Golf Tournament After Opening Round

Georgia Southwestern take a strong lead in the PBC Men’s Golf Championship following the first round at the King & Bear Golf Course. The ‘Canes shot an opening-round 280 and hold a six-stroke lead heading into day two. Georgia Southwestern sits 8 under par, six strokes ahead of USC Beaufort in second and eight strokes up on Columbus State in third. 
 
Georgia Southwestern’s Sacha Corlouer and Flagler’s Masen McKain share the top spot in the individual leaderboard, as both players shot an opening round 67 to sit at five under par heading into round two. 
 
Georgia Southwestern led Par 3 scoring with a 2.80 average on Par 3s in the opening round. The ‘Canes also led Par 5 scoring with a 4.35 average. Flagler led Par 4 scoring with a 4.10 average on the day. As a team, USC Beaufort knocked in three Eagles, while GSW, North Georgia and GCSU each knocked in one. Georgia Southwestern led with 21 birdies on the day, while North Georgia led with 60 pars. 
 
Georgia Southwestern’s Sacha Corlouer led Par 3 scoring with a 2.25 average. Three players shared the lead in Par 4 scoring as USC Beaufort’s Christofer Hammar and Flagler’s Patrick Herron and Masen McKain each averaged 3.90 on Par 4s. Georgia Southwestern’s Stefan Rojas and Columbus State’s Ian Pienaar both led the way in Par 5 scoring, averaging 4.00. 
 
USCA, Lander, North Georgia and GCSU are set to tee off beginning at 7:40am tomorrow.
