Lindqvist in second-place tie following opening round of NCAA Championships

| By: Jason Guth - Assistant Sports Information Director
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The opening round of the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships Stroke Play from the PGA National Resort wrapped up Wednesday afternoon after rainy weather Tuesday pushed its completion to today.

Kajsa Lindqvist, representing Lander for the second year in a row, is officially tied for second place at two-under-par after scoring a 70 in the first of three rounds. She had three birdies, 14 pars and one bogey and sits two shots back of Wingate's Amely Bochaton for the tournament lead. Lindqvist is tied with Taylor Wilczek from St. Mary's (Texas).

Lindqvist – one of the few golfers to finish her round yesterday – immediately recovered from a bogey on Hole 4 with a birdie on Hole 5 and went out in 36. She found some momentum with back-to-back birdies on 13 and 14 and made par on the remainder of the holes.

Lindqvist tied for second in scoring on the par-3s at -1 with a 2.75 stroke average. She tied for fourth on par-4s, also at -1 and a 3.90 stroke average.

Rainy weather is expected again this afternoon, but the second round is now underway. Live scoring is available here.
