PBC Announces Spring Team Sportsmanship Awards

AUGUSTA, GA -- The Peach Belt Conference has released the winners of the spring Team Sportsmanship Awards. Seven awards were named with North Georgia winning for baseball, Flagler for softball, Columbus State for women's golf, Clayton State for men's golf, Georgia College & State University for men's tennis, Georgia Southwestern for women's tennis and Montevallo for men's lacrosse.

Men's and women's track & field was honored with an All-Sportsmanship team following the PBC Championships with one runner from each school recognized. You can see the men's winners here and the women's here.

Started in 2008, the program presents an award following each championship season to the team in that sport that best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship and generally conducts themselves with a high degree of integrity, character and class. The team award is selected by other teams who compete in that sport. Points are awarded based on how each team finished in the voting and in June, the institution with the highest totals will receive the 'PBC Institution of the Year Sportsmanship Award.'

Flagler captures their PBC-leading 36th Team Sportsmanship Award. The softball program receives their seventh overall and second in a row.

North Georgia wins their 27th overall award for the department and continue their domination of the category in baseball. The Nighthawks have won six straight awards in the sport and eight overall.

Georgia College & State University wins their 26th overall award and second of the 2022-23 season along with men's basketball. The men's tennis award is their second in a row and sixth for the sport.
