GAINESVILLE, FLA -- Embry-Riddle won their second straight PBC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Monday at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center in Gainesville. The Eagles soared to 224 points to capture the crown with Flagler in second with 155. Lander and USC Beaufort were tied for third at 41 with Clayton State at 33.
Among the notable performances on the track was Embry-Riddle's K'Anthony Benjamin, who set a season-best for the conference in the 60m with a time of 6.82 seconds, which is also an NCAA provisional time. Anthony also won the 400 in 21.79, best in the league this season. Lander's Michael Balkman set an NCAA provisional in the 400 with a conference-best time of 48.30 while Flagler's John Carbone did the same in the 800 in 1:51.19.
Flagler's Luke Larkin won the mile in 4:11.30 and teammate Caden Vann won the 60 hurdles in 8.23, both best in the league this year.
In the field events, ERAU's Conrad Prisby set an NCAA qualifying height in the pole vault at 4.78m while Eagle teammate Joshua Dixon had a PBC-best 14.92 in the shot put.
The NCAA will announce selections for the national championships on March 4.
