GAINESVILLE, GA -- Using a dominating performance in all areas, Embry-Riddle won their second straight PBC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Monday at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center in Gainesville, Ga. The Eagles finished with 288 points, outdistancing second-place Flagler with 110 and third-place Clayton State with 36.
Among the notable results from the field events were ERAU's Mikaela Miles in the long jump who won at 5.59 meters, longest in the PBC this season. Miles also set an NCAA provisional in winning the triple jump with a PBC-best distance of 12.55m on her second attempt. Teammate Kristen Rolle set an NCAA provisional distance in the weight throw at 17.20m while Madison Morris had a PBC-best in the shot put and Leilani Spruill in the pole vault.
On the track, five events featured season-bests in the Peach Belt. ERAU's Shenya O'Connell won the 60 in 7.81 seconds while Liora Best won the 200 in 25.03 and the 400 in 57.03. Dejah Saunders captured the 60 hurdles in 9.06 seconds while the Flagler team won the event-closing distance medley relay in 12:42.84.
The NCAA will announce selections for the national championships on March 4.
