BASEBALL
Player of the Week
Brody Yeomans, North Georgia
Sophomore, Outfield
  • Helped North Georgia to a 3-1 record including a series sweep of Claflin
  • Had a .563 batting average, 1.200 slugging percentage and .600 on base percentage for the week
  • Posted 9 hits, 11 RBI’s and scored 11 runs for the week
  • Yeomans hit a triple and four home runs, one home run in each of his four games played this week
  • Yeomans is fourth in the PBC with 29 RBIs on the season. His five home runs are tied for second most in the PBC this season 
Pitcher of the Week
Evan Koehler, Georgia Southwestern
Senior, Pitcher
  • Koehler threw a 9-inning complete game win over No.1 Tampa
  • Struck out fifteen, with no walks in the 132-pitch effort, allowing just four hits and one run
  • Retired the side in order, including in the 9th, struck out the side in order in the 7th
  • Tampa ranked No. 1 in both ABCA and NCBWA polls entered the weekend averaging 10.6 runs per game
  • On the season, Koehler leads the PBC in opposing batting average (.181), innings pitched (43.2), batters struck out (63), wins (5) and is second in earned run average (1.85), batters struck out looking (19) and fewest runs allowed (11)
Freshman of the Week
Johnny Nutt, Georgia Southwestern
Freshman, Pitcher
  • Nutt claims his fourth consecutive Freshman of the Week honor as the freshman pitcher sits on a 4-0 record on the mound
  • Nutt threw a 9-inning complete game win over No. 1 Tampa on Sunday to secure the series for the Canes
  • Struck out two, with just three walks in the 136-pitch effort, allowing six hits and just one run
  • Retired the side in order twice
  • Tampa ranked No. 1 in both ABCA and NCBWA polls entered the weekend averaging 10.6 runs per game
  • On the season, Nutt ranks third in earned run average (2.50), fourth in opposing batting average (.194), fourth in innings pitched (26.0), is tied for third in wins (4), sixth in fewest hits allowed (25) and fewest runs allowed (14)
 
SOFTBALL
Player of the Week
Taelor Chang, USC Beaufort
Senior, Designated Player
  • Helped Georgia Southwestern to a 4-2 week
  • Had a .529 batting average, 1.118 slugging percentage and .579 on base percentage for the week
  • Totaled a double and three home runs on the week, with eight RBIs, nine hits and five runs
  • Chang knocked in three home runs in one game vs Edward Waters this week, which is tied for second most home runs in a game all-time in the PBC
  • Chang is second in the PBC in batting average (.490), tied for fifth in slugging percentage (.776), sixth in on base percentage (.525) , third in on base+ slugging percentage (1.301) and runs batted in (25)
Pitcher/ Freshman of the Week
Abbie Kegley, USCA
Freshman, Pitcher
  • Made three appearances for the Pacers this week, going 2-1 from the mound
  • Kegley tossed a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a 3-0 win over Wingate
  • Lost a 1-0 decision with an unearned run with four strikeouts vs Flagler
  • Picked up her second victory of the week throwing 7.1 innings in relief with four strikeouts in a 6-5 victory over the Saints
  • Kegley leads the PBC in opposing batting average (.177), innings pitched (85.1), batters struck out (84), is second in earned run average (1.56), batters struck out looking (17), wins (9) and tied for second in saves (1)
 
MEN’S TENNIS
Player of the Week
Annis Rafiq, Flagler
Redshirt Freshman
  • Went 2-0 in singles and doubles this weekend against #10 Wingate and #8 Washburn
  • Defeated No. 11 Pavlos Parson (Washburn) 6-4,6-0
  • Won 6-2 in both doubles matches on court 3 with teammate Noah Paterson
 
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Player of the Week
Eryka Kruk, Flagler
Senior
  • Went 2-0 in singles vs Wingate and #6 Washburn
  • Both wins on court one were ranked “upset” wins
  • Defeated No. 35 A. Oktiabreva (Wingate) 6-4, 7-5
  • Defeated Mo. 7 Renske Ubachs (Washburn) 6-0, 6-3
  • Ubachs was Kruk’s first top-10 win of her career
 
MEN’S LACROSSE
Offensive Player of the Week
Matthew Boas, Montevallo
Senior, Attacker
  • Led Montevallo’s attack in their 15-5 victory over Young Harris this week
  • Had 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points from 7 shots, 4 shots on goal and 3 ground balls
  • Leads the PBC in goals (27), goals per game (3.38), points (45), points per game (5.63) and is third in assists (18) and assists per game (2.25)
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Alex Egorshin, Montevallo
Senior, Goalkeeper
  • Led Montevallo’s defense in their 15-5 victory over Young Harris this week
  • Totaled 14 saves on 30 shots faced for a .737 save percentage
  • Egorshin leads the PBC in save percentage (.591), total saves (123) and saves per game (15.38), and is third in goals against average (11.40)
 
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Track Athlete of the Week
Davonte Jackson, Clayton State
Senior
  • Competed at the Savannah State Eye Opener this weekend
  • Placed first in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.55, the fastest in the PBC this season so far
  • Placed second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.10, the second fastest in the PBC this season so far
  • Competed in the 4x400m relay that finished with a time of 3:19.23, the second fastest in the PBC this season so far
Field Athlete of the Week
Mason Briggs, Embry-Riddle
Junior
  • Competed at the ERAU Eagle Invite this weekend
  • Placed second in the javelin with a throw of 62.96m, meeting the NCAA provisional standard
  • Briggs leads the PBC in the Javelin so far this season
 
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Track Athlete of the Week
Jada Jenkins, Clayton State
Senior
  • Competed at the Savannah State Eye Opener this weekend
  • Finished 3rd in the 100m with a time of 12.63, the sixth fastest in the PBC this season so far
  • Finished the 200m dash with a time of 25.97, the fifth fastest in the PBC this season so far
  • Competed in the 4x100m relay that finished with a time of 48.51, the second fastest in the PBC this season so far
 
Field Athlete of the Week
Alex Baltazar Hall, Embry-Riddle
Graduate
  • Competed at the ERAU Eagle Invite this weekend
  • Threw 46.89m in the discus, meeting the NCAA provisional standard
  • Placed second out of 17 competitors
