PBC Releases Baseball All-Conference Teams

With the conference tournament set to begin tomorrow, the Peach Belt Conference has revealed the 2026 baseball All-Conference teams. Post season awards are nominated and voted for by the league’s coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players. Georgia Southwestern pitching duo leads the major awards as Evan Koehler claims Pitcher of the Year and Johnny Nutt claims Freshman of the Year honors. Flagler’s George Gilson is named Player of the Year and North Georgia’s Nolan Belcher claims Coach of the Year honors. GCSU’s Tams Mullins receives the Elite 18 Award, given to the player participating in the championship with the highest cumulative GPA.
 
PBC Player of the Year
George Gilson, Flagler
Sophomore, Outfield
  • The sophomore from Jacksonville, Florida was unanimously voted as Player of the Year by opposing coaches for his performances in the 2026 season
  • Gilson led the PBC this season in slugging percentage (.793), OPS (1.286), RBIs (67), doubles (21) and home runs (13)
  • He is second in the PBC this season in batting average (.413), triples (5), stolen bases (33) and third in runs scored (62)
  • Gilson makes history as the first Flagler player to be named Player of the Year for Baseball, and just the second Saint to receive a major award for baseball, joining Mike O’Reilly who was named Pitcher of the Year in 2015
 
PBC Pitcher of the Year
Evan Koehler, Georgia Southwestern
Senior, Pitcher
  • The senior from Orange City, Florida went 7-3 on the season, pitching 87.2 innings
  • Koehler leads the PBC this season in batters struck out (114), batters struck out looking (34) and innings pitched (87.2). He is also second in ERA (3.18), opposing batting average (.215) and tied for third in wins (7)
  • Koehler leads NCAA Division II in strikeouts with 20 more than second place
  • He is also fifth nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio with 6.33
  • Koehler is the sixth GSW pitcher to be named Pitcher of the Year, as GSW pitchers have won the award six times in the past eight years
 
PBC Freshman of the Year
Johnny Nutt, Georgia Southwestern
Freshman, Pitcher
  • The freshman from Fitzgerald, Georgia went 6-2 on the season, pitching 75 innings
  • Five of Nutt’s victories came in PBC action, with his sixth against then No.1 Tampa 
  • Nutt is fourth in the PBC this season in innings pitched (75.0), fifth in ERA (3.72), tied fifth in fewest earned runs allowed (31), sixth in wins (6) and eight in batters struck out (53)
  • Nutt makes history as the first GSW player to be named Freshman of the Year
 
PBC Coach of the Year
Nolan Belcher, North Georgia
1st Season
  • Belcher claims the PBC Coach of the Year award in his first season leading the Nighthawks
  • Belcher led the Nighthawks to a 38-12 overall record in the regular season and a 26-4 record in conference play
  • Helped North Georgia to their second-consecutive PBC title, and their first outright title since 2017
  • Belcher is just the second North Georgia coach to claim PBC Coach of the Year honors, joining his predecessor, Tom Cantrell, who won the award five times
 
PBC Elite 18 Award
Tams Mullins, GCSU
Junior, Pitcher
  • The PBC Elite 18 Award is presented at each of the PBC's 18 championships to the student-athlete competing with the highest cumulative GPA
  • Made 14 appearances for the Bobcats this season,
  • Pitched 15 innings, allowing 22 hits and striking out 11
